Who we are
nfc-findme is developed by a small team in London. You can reach us at info@nfc-findme.com.
What we collect, and why
When you order a tag, we ask for:
- Your name and delivery address, to post the tag to you.
- Your email address, to send your order confirmation and tell you when it is posted.
- The email address or mobile number finders should use, and your message. We write these onto the tag. Anyone who taps the tag can read them, so only use details you are happy to share with a finder.
- Your colour choice and order details, so we can make and track your order.
We use these only to make, post and support your order. We do not sell them and we do not send marketing emails.
Our legal reason is that we need these details to carry out your order (a contract with you).
Your card details
You pay on a secure page run by SumUp. We never see or store your card number. SumUp tells us whether the payment worked. SumUp’s own privacy notice explains how they use your payment details.
Who else handles your details
We share your details only with the companies we need to run your order: our payment provider, our website host, our email services and Royal Mail (for delivery). Some of them process data outside the UK, under their own data protection arrangements.
How long we keep your details
- Your name, address, email, finder contact and message are erased 30 days after we post your tag, or 30 days after a refund.
- We keep the order number, dates and amount for our accounts, as the law requires. These do not identify you on their own.
- Order emails in our mailbox are deleted at the same time as the order details.
The tag itself keeps the contact and message we wrote onto it, because it is yours.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the details we hold, correct them, or erase them early. Email info@nfc-findme.com with your order number. We cannot change what is already written on a locked tag. If you are unhappy with how we use your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
