nfc-findme

Lost your item? Let the finder tap to message you.

nfc-findme is a 3D printed tag you clip to your keys, bag or headphones, so if you lose them, whoever finds them can easily contact you. They tap it with their phone, and a message to you is ready to send.

Tap the tag to send out a ripple.

How it works in three steps

The tag has no battery and no buttons. It wakes up when a phone comes close.

  1. Attach it

Clip the tag to your keys, school bag, headphone case or anything else that tends to go missing.

  2. They tap it

Whoever finds your item holds their phone against the tag just like they do for paying using their phone. That is all they need to do.

  3. You get a message

The message to you is already written. The finder presses send, or adds a few words about how you can collect your item.

Example of what the finder seesHi, I found your keys. You can collect them from the school office.

What the finder sees

No app needed. When they hold their phone near the tag, a link pops up. One tap opens your message.

What makes it different

Your message is ready before you lose anything

You choose whether the message arrives as an email or a text. The finder does not have to type anything, which makes it quick for them to help.

Locked before it reaches you

We write your message onto the tag and lock it before we send it. After that, nobody can change what it says.

It doubles as a trolley coin

The tag is shaped to fit a UK shopping trolley coin slot, so the tag on your keys can also unlock your trolley.

Made for keys. Just as happy on everything else.

The tag is small and flat, with a loop for a ring or clip. Fix it to a school or sports bag, a laptop case, headphones or an umbrella.

Pick your colour. Choose from the colours on the order page. We add new ones as we print them.

Questions

About the tag

What is NFC?

NFC stands for Near Field Communication. It is the same radio-frequency (RF) technology used in tap-to-pay systems. Your phone must be very close to the tag for it to work.

Does the tag need a battery?

No. When a phone comes close, the tag powers up from the phone's antenna and sends its information across.

Does the finder need an app?

No. Phones read the tag without an app. On an iPhone, NFC is always on. On some Android phones, NFC needs to be switched on once in settings.

What if nothing happens when I tap it?

Hold the tag flat against your phone and keep it still. On an iPhone, hold it near the top. On most other phones, hold it in the middle of the back. It usually works in a second or two. If it doesn't, slowly slide the tag around that area. Sometimes it can take up to 30 seconds. Make sure your screen is on. On some phones you need to switch on NFC in settings.

Can someone change my details?

No. We write your message onto the tag and lock it before we post it, so no one can change the information stored on it. Locking is permanent and cannot be undone, so please check your contact details carefully when you order.

What can I attach it to?

Anything that matters to you, such as keys, bags, luggage or headphone cases. Every tag comes with a ring, so you can hook it onto whatever you like.

Ordering and delivery

How much is it?

The tag is £3 and postage is £1.99, so you pay £4.99 in total. The ring is included. There are no other costs.
